October has flown by, and a LOT of exciting things happened. Seriously, this post is loaded with photos because I just had so much to share.

Talking about all of the things here:

DiveThru

I cannot believe that DiveThru has been out in the world for a full month. I have been working towards this month for 2 years. It’s been a dream.

We purposely took the first month slow to ensure everything was running smoothly. To my surprise, the app has been functioning excellently!

The feedback we have been receiving from those diving thru has been amazing. Seriously, I have cried a lot. It means the absolute world to me to know that you guys are finding DiveThru helpful. It breaks my heart knowing how needed it is in the world, but I’m so happy to have contributed to the creation of such an impactful tool.

Within the first couple of days, we hit the top charts within the Health & Fitness category – so cool! We got as high as number #112!

I’m just so thankful for everyone who’s connecting with themselves and diving thru!

The Sophie Gray Brand

This month was a big one for my little corner on the internet. After YEARS of wanting to create one, the SophieThinksThoughts Podcast is officially coming – and quickly, on November 5th! I cannot wait. To be honest, I’m really proud of myself. I finally pulled the trigger and put together the show in two weeks. When I really allowed myself to work on it, things flowed together nicely.

What’s it about? Well, it’s about the thoughts I’m thinking. Multiple times a week I’ll share meaningful conversations which provide a dose of introspection for the listener. In these episodes, I’ll keep things real, honest and raw as I explore topics such as mindfulness, relationships, social media, politics, self-care, and everything in between.

I. Am. So. Excited.

While I’m excited about the content of the podcast, I am veeeerrry excited about the creative direction my brand has taken visually. My Art Director is absolutely crushing it.

Look how amazing these Instagram Story cover photos look?!

Personal Life

This month was personally busy, in all of the best ways.

For the last 12 years, Riley has hosted a Mansgiving, a Thanksgiving dinner where the men cook. Although the men always cook in our household, this event was something Riley started before I husband’d him up. His parents moved when he was 18, so he never had a family dinner to go to. It’s a tradition that has truly taken off. Mansgiving has hosted anywhere between 3 to 65 people. Last year was the biggest. We combined it with our engagement party and hosted 65 people for Mansgiving dinner!

This year, we hosted around 40 people. While the night itself was a great time, there were 2 massive changes from the previous year. Riley’s parents were in town for the first time, so they got to attend the dinner. But, the second change… Riley’s parents were in town because WE ADDED A BABY STEELE TO THE FAMILY!!! Riley’s brother and wife gave birth to their little nugget on Mansgiving! What a time!

We are incredibly close with Riley’s brother and his wife. I know Mandy technically isn’t my sister-in-law, but fuck it, she’s a sister to me. I could not be happier for the two of them and cannot wait to be an Auntie to another little baby girl.

How perfect is she?!?!!? I can’t get over how precious her little nose is.

Aside from all of the baby cuddles, Riley and I also absolutely crushed the couple Halloween outfit game. And yes, that is my own hair:

Wellness Routine

During September, Riley and I notice that we dined out a lot. For October, we not only wanted to save money, but we wanted to eat healthier, too. I was so delighted when Riley mentioned that we spent considerably less amount of money this month because the amount we ate at home.

You won’t believe it, but I actually made Riley dinner TWICE by myself. I know this doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s huge. I actually… enjoyed it. It was bizarre. For next month, we’re looking into getting a fresh food subscription box. Have you guys had any experiences with these?

Here’s a shot of one of the dishes I made him:

While Riley was focusing on ensuring we were eating dinner at home, I was responsible for my own lunches. Surprisingly, I was hugely into salads this month. They. Are. So. Easy. To. Make. I loved them because we always have different things in the fridge and it changes things up.

Back in the day, I never found salad filling enough. For that reason, I have been loading them up with different seeds and superfoods. You guys know I’m all about that Sunfood life, so naturally, I have been loading these salads up. My go tos right now are pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds.

Both hemp and pumpkin seeds are super filling and nutritious. I also find that I can never get enough protein, and hemp seeds alone are 36% protein! I was recommended to eat more magnesium rich foods by my doctor as it helps to relax the body. Pumpkin seeds are packed with magnesium, so I feel like I’m just getting allll of the nutrients.

Who would have thought both these seeds are such a nutritional powerhouse?!

My Go To Salad Recipe:

  • Mixed Greens
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Fresh Fruit (Berries/Apples/Oranges)
  • Shredded Chicken
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Store Bought Salad Dressing

Since Sunfood is my fave, I have a discount code allll for you. Get 20% off your Sunfood order with the code SOPHIEGRAY.

Reflections

One of the first podcast episodes we’re launching with explores choosing your own path. The reason I decided to record this episode was that it has been a huge theme for me this month. As Riley and I settled into being a married couple, we’re talking about the life we’re building together. While I explored that a little bit here, it’s been something that’s required a lot of reflection and journaling on my end.

There’s a saying that we’re most like the 5 people we surround ourselves with. A lot of the time, our life’s look similar to those around us. While this is beautiful if that life aligns with you, it can sometimes feel inauthentic.

As of late, our choice in lifestyle has felt inauthentic. For that reason, there has been a lot of journaling about what I want my path to look like. It’s fun, yet terrifying.

Your Takeaway

So, for the reflection this month… I want you to look at your life. Is this the path you want to follow? I want you to look align and noticed if you feel in alignment. Letting go of any judgment for yourself or for others that comes up, and simply reflect. What do you want your life to look like?

Happy reflecting, friends – and enjoy your November!
